Texting and driving is a major issue especially with teen drivers

As children grow older and older in Florida they are able to do more and more things on their own. This includes eventually being able to drive a car on their own. Teen drivers are usually among the least experienced drivers on the roads though and can take unnecessary risks because they do not fully realize the potential consequences of their actions. Therefore, teen drivers also cause many car accidents each year.

Another reason for this is because teen drivers can sometimes be easily distracted especially by their phones. Many people are well aware of the dangers of texting and driving, but the statistics are alarming. On average there are 1.6 million car accidents involving cell phone use resulting in 500,000 injuries and 6,000 deaths each year. On average 11 teens die each day in crashes involving cell phones.

However, 40 percent of teens report being in a car when a driver put them in danger while using a cell phone. Another alarming statistic is that 89 percent of teens expect a reply to a text within five minutes, so many teens may feel obligated to reply to texts while driving.

The statistics above show that there are many injuries each year because of texting and driving, but what the statistics do not show is that the injuries can cause serious and long-term problems for the victims. These accidents can prevent them from doing certain things and cost them significant amounts of money in medical bills and lost income.

There are many motor vehicle accidents in Florida each year due to the use of cell phones. There are also many victims of these accidents who suffer severe injuries, which can cause significant physical and financial hardships for the victims. These victims may be entitled to compensation from the driver who caused the accident. This compensation can pay for the financial costs like medical bills, lost income and pain and suffering as well. Experienced attorneys understand the importance of it and may able to help guide one through the process.
