Many pedestrians are injured in accidents in Florida

There are many different ways that people in Florida get to where they are going. The most preferred mode of transportation may be driving their vehicles, people also use public transportation, bicycles and other types of transportation. Some people even walk to their destination. Even those people who drive, most likely will still need to walk to get to their final destination. This could mean they need to walk a couple of blocks or just through a parking lot, but they still need to walk.

When these people walk they most likely will need to either cross a street or interact with motor vehicles in other ways. Unfortunately many pedestrians are hit when interacting with these vehicles. In 2016, there were 9,102 pedestrian accidents in Florida, which was more than in both 2014 and 2015. In these accidents 667 pedestrians were killed and 7,796 pedestrians were injured as a result.

This demonstrates that not only are there many pedestrian accidents, but that when they occur there is a very good chance the pedestrian will be injured or killed. This is because pedestrians are so much smaller than any other motor vehicle on the road and therefore it does not take a major accident to injure them. These injuries can also be very devastating and change the victims' lives forever. They can be very costly as well, but the victims of the accidents may be entitled to compensation from the drivers who caused the accident.

Pedestrian accidents can be very dangerous for the pedestrians and unfortunately there are many of these accidents every year in Florida. The pedestrians can suffer catastrophic injuries, which can force them to incur major medical bills and lose income if they are unable to work. These victims may be entitled to compensation to pay for these expenses so they can just focus on getting better. People deserve the proper amount of compensation though and consulting with an experienced attorney may be beneficial.
