Young child and woman killed in hit-and-run accident

People in Florida are bound to make a mistake from time to time. Not all of these mistakes are consequential, but some can have major ramifications for the person who made the mistake and others are affected by it.

One type of mistake that can affect others is a car accident. When people make mistakes, such as not paying attention to the road, speeding, running red lights or stop signs and many other types of mistakes, the other drivers involved can suffer life-changing injuries or even be killed.

This recently occurred when a driver allegedly ran a red light and hit three people, including an eight-month old child, who were legally crossing the street at the time. To make matters worse, the car fled the scene, and the police are currently looking for the vehicle and the driver who did this. The child died, as well as one of the other women. The mother of the child was the other woman involved and she was also hurt, but is still alive.

These types of accidents are completely avoidable and extremely devastating. The family of the victims are now left grieving and trying to figure out how to move on with life without their loved one. In some situations, these accidents can also be costly, especially if there were extensive medical bills incurred or the loved one provided a significant portion of the income to the family. These victims and their families may be entitled to compensation from the driver who caused the accident though. This compensation could also come from their own insurance company in hit-and-run situations.

It is imperative that drivers in Florida follow the traffic laws and obey traffic signals. The other drivers and pedestrians rely on them to do so. When they do not, people can be severely injured, even killed.

Victims of these accidents and their families are left in a difficult position, both physically and financially. They may be entitled to compensation for the financial damages, which can be valuable as people recover or move on. It is important to understand what people deserve in these situations, and consulting an experienced attorney may be useful.
