Boating accident results in death, injuries in Pensacola area

Boating accidents can be traumatic and may cause serious injuries and other harm to victims. A boating accident near Pensacola recently claimed the life of the operator of the boat and injured two others. The two injured victims were transported to a hospital in Pensacola for treatment of their injuries. The 56-year old operator of the boat was killed in the boat accident that remains under investigation and, as part of the investigation, the blood alcohol of all the occupants of the boat is being tested.

According to authorities, the boating accident took place when the boat the 3 individuals were traveling in hit a sand bar, became airborne and flipped. All three occupants were thrown from the boat. Authorities believe that speed was a factor in the boat crash. A man familiar with the waterway noted that he believed the accident happened when the operator of the boat attempted to cut from one waterway to the other. He believes that the Florida side of the intercostal waterway is well marked but not the other side.

When a boating accident takes place, injuring victims, the laws associated with it can be complex and challenging to understanding. Trained guidance can help victims sort through the legal process to help them obtain compensation for the damages they have suffered. In general, a personal injury claim for damages is possible against a negligent driver in a car accident or negligent boat operator in a boating accident. Even if the negligent party is killed in the accident, it may be possible to bring a claim for damages against their estate.

Additional parties may also be liable for the damages suffered by victims depending on the circumstances which is why victims should be familiar with all their legal options and the full range of legal options available to them. Victims may need help with the recovery process and the physical, financial and emotional damages suffered which a personal injury claim for damages may be able to help with.
